Is It That Cold in Your Apartment Too?

They’ve already turned off the heat, and I don’t like it

Living in a block of flats means you don’t need to worry about the maintenance of the roof, elevation, or even the heat. They just turn it on once it gets cold, and off when it’s already warm outside again.

The thing is, it had been warm this year so our heaters are already cool, but now it feels like we’re heading into winter months again.

The thermometer in my flat says it is 23° Celsius (73.4° Fahrenheit) but I don’t really believe it. I’m afraid I will catch a cold sitting at home!

I suppose it has something to do with the humidity and weather anomalies overall. Lately, I traveled 350 kilometers (217 miles) across two voivodeships, and experienced a summery, strong sun, as well as a ridiculously intense downpour and… hail. All during one trip!

I remember strong, crazy strong winters from my childhood. One year it was so cold that the pipes in our school froze, so they closed it. I could play Baldur’s Gate II and read books all day long!

On the other hand, last year, summer was so hot that I bought an air conditioner. Me, an air conditioner! All my friends know I’m an onion-head…

And now I see it has a different meaning in English; I don’t use cocaine! I’m just very careful with buying expensive things since I always think I don’t need them. Xiaomi smartphone user here!

Anyway, it seems like the weather gets crazier each year. What are we going to say to our children in twenty years? Will it be possible to see snow in Poland at all?
