Is it Depression or a Bad Life?

They may interlace and interfere with each other, but they’re not the same thing.

I find many of our society’s modern problems derive from the same misunderstanding; we believe for every problem there’s one answer. For every answer there’s groups of people tossing conflict at the other group. Most of the time this ends in nothing being done or in too many things being done wrongly.

The discussion of depression and all its associates is not something we can concisely speak about. Too many variables and different situations.

Sure, we could start from the outside with a broad conversation, but sooner or later we’ll pin point an issue that brings us to threading the needle.

The complication with this is that for most troubles we face there’s many threads, so people often neglect or worsen the issue entirely.

In this piece I will bring light to the common misconception that ties depression too easily to people regardless of their lives, as well as what you can do when people pass your depression for something simple.

I am not a doctor or a medical professional of any type. I am speaking from experience that I have lived or has been taught to me from others.

Depression is not when you have nothing going for you, therefore you’re sad and feel miserable. It makes sense to not be happy and to not feel competent if there’s nothing around you that makes you feel good.

To live with people you don’t like, to not have any credentials and to have barely or nothing going for you doesn’t mean you’re depressed.

Here’s the catch: it can mean that you have manifested it. But have you ever been surrounded with people you like, doing something you enjoy and working towards a meaningful life?

If you have and you don’t feel “depressed” or at least you feel favorable progression, guess what — you’re just feeling down for the right reasons.
